Data Manager - Senior Analyst, Māori Health Pipeline, North Shore

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced health information specialist, to provide data management and analysis services across a range of research projects which constitute the Waitematā/Auckland DHB Māori Health Pipeline. The Pipeline is an initiative designed to accelerate projects which address inequities in life expectancy and/or have significant potential for Māori health gain. The projects under the Pipeline are exciting and innovative, several are world leading, and they are designed to generate robust evidence for policy and commissioning and/or offer equity focused interventions.
The position will report to the Pipeline Programme Manager and will be responsible for:
- Development and maintenance of systems and processes that enable active support of equitable health outcomes for Māori
- Ensuring data integrity and safety in all projects
- Further developing data monitoring systems and processes
- Extraction and analysis of data and providing reports which support the audit and evaluation of all aspects of the projects
- Supporting staff in the use of data systems and tools
The successful applicant will have a minimum of ten years’ experience working with health data and data bases within the health sector, possess sound knowledge of the legal constraints associated with the use, storage and dissemination of health data, be able to demonstrate ability in the use of a variety of reporting tools and competence in the development of instructional materials. A commitment to pursuing equity in health outcomes for Māori is essential and experience in screening programmes, research and in equity work would be advantageous.
