We are currently seeking an exceptional person to fill the above role for He Puna Waiora based in North Shore Hospital Hospital. These are newly created positions to accelerate Māori Health gain.
The main purpose of this position is to enhance our clinical care through the use of mātauranga Māori. This will see you providing Māori advice, guidance and support to tangata whai i te ora and their whānau, undertaking cultural assessments and cultural intervention and supporting the cultural development of the wider team.
This role is based at He Puna Waiora Inpatient Unit, and will be closely supported by our Taurawhiri, Kaumātua and Cultural Team Leader.
The position would suit a person who is proficient in Te Reo Rangatira me ōna Tikanga, and is passionate about improving Māori health and wellbeing. Experience in mental health and addictions are desirable but not essential. As is an understanding of Māori community support mechanisms. A good understanding of Māori health models and the concept of whānau ora is essential.
