Senior Occupational Therapist (Full Time) Community Health Service, Te Whatu Ora
Remuneration as per MECA guidelines (between step 9-12)
Due to expansion within our community services to better address the acute care in the community and reablement needs of people within the Counties Manukau District, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinician to lead the design and delivery of innovative services in the community setting. These will be person/whaanau centred, interdisciplinary, and outcome focused services. Clinical delivery will be focused predominantly within the Hospital in the Home and Reablement workstreams.
This Senior designated Occupational Therapist position will utilise your well-developed clinical expertise to deliver and support a new model of care. This role will focus on the acute care in the community and restorative specialist areas and manage people with high clinical complexity to maintain their quality of life in their own homes and communities. You will support and promote high standards of clinical practice and service development by providing clinical leadership within the team and assist in the development of the clinical capability of others. There is the opportunity to grow and develop leadership skills in relevant quality improvement, service development and research activities.

• NZ Registered Occupational Therapist with current annual practising certificate
• 6+ years experience post registration
• Passion for working in a person/whaanau centred way to provide excellent care
• Solution focussed, team player with excellent communication skills
• Sound computer skills
• Full, clean driver’s licence
• Experience in both hospital and community setting
• Evidence of post graduate study
• Advanced assessment skills
• Evidence of contributing to service development initiatives
