Tiaho Mai is an Acute Adult Mental health inpatient unit at Counties Manukau based within a diverse and culturally rich community. We provide care for people from Otahuhu to Mercer, coast to coast, including Kaiaua and Port Waikato who are admitted into a hospital setting with mental health problems.

 

Occupational Therapy Assistants are an integral part of our team and we have an exciting opportunity so if you are motivated and energetic, willing to work in a team environment, keen to learn, and ready for a rewarding challenge then we would like to hear from you.

 

Working under the direct supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist, you will be involved in assisting the Occupational Therapy team to perform client related therapy tasks, build/source resources for therapy, working with clinical staff, other assistants and other agencies to support client recovery.

 

Tiaho Mai team offers a supportive environment and encourages personal and career development. In this role you will receive supervision and training to enable you to develop and maintain a comprehensive set of skills.

 

Previous experience in a health care setting is preferred.

 

Essential:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Good written and verbal communication, excellent customer service aptitude and skills
  • Computer literate (Intermediate level) Microsoft office, Outlook
  • Great time management skills
  • Preference and ability to work as part of a team
  • Full and clean drivers licence
