About the Role
Our busy Adult Emergency Department (AED) at Auckland City Hospital needs Medical Officers available for part-time positions in our brand new Ambulatory Care area.
We're looking for adaptable professionals who thrive in rapidly changing environments. As a Medical Officer, you'll work alongside our diverse healthcare team to deliver high-quality care in a setting where quick, accurate decision-making is essential. Your primary focus will be efficiently managing patients with minor illnesses and injuries in our high-volume, fast-turnover department.
This part-time role offers a minimum commitment of 0.67 FTE, consisting of two 10-hour clinical shifts per week plus one non-clinical shift. This arrangement provides an excellent work-life balance while contributing meaningfully to our department. Shifts operate between 0800-0200 hours on a 1:4 weekend roster pattern. We have some flexibility to accommodate fixed days for suitable candidates.

About you
Qualifications:
- Medical practitioner fully registered with the New Zealand Medical Council
- Training in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care
- Commitment to biculturalism and Maori health
- Minimum 4 years’ experience Registrar level
