About the role:

Healthcare Assistants play a key role in all our DHB services – they are an integral part of our service, delivering quality care for our patients and whanau. Each HCA role across our hospital services may include a variety of tasks, hours and roster flexibility that appeal to a range of potential candidates. An HCA's typical day can involve assisting with patient care, such as personal care (bed washes, toilet assistance), patient transfers, general housekeeping such as restocking supplies, setting up equipment, making beds and, tidying-up patient rooms, operating theatres. Heavy lifting work may also be a part of your day-to-day activities for some roles. You will also be trained to perform oximetry and spirometry for patients who require it. You may also be involved with a range of direct and non-direct patient care tasks given to you under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

About you:

The applicant for this position must have New Zealand Residency or be legally entitled to work with a minimum of two years of visa validity. Your strong work ethic, excellent time management, and people skills will ensure a safe, pleasant, and functional working environment that directly and positively impacts patient care.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

To be successful in this role, you must have completed NZQA Level 3 or Level 4 in Health & Wellbeing qualification.
