Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
Contribute your strategic relationship and team leadership skills to advance Māori & Pacific health equity. Starship Digital and Community Engagement service has an exciting opportunity for an experienced strategic relationships manager to help advance its ambitious work programme.
This is a newly created role that will lead strategic engagement with Māori and other community partners to actualise the Ririki Haumaru/Safekids Aotearoa strategic vision and work programme. The role will also manage relationships with key funders, and lead and manage the Community Engagement and Mobilisation team, a key responsibility of which is the ACC/Safekids Home Safety Programme, which is delivered by over 30 service provider partners.
Starship’s Digital and Community Engagement service is continually transforming and is dedicated to upholding and actualising Te Tiriti o Waitangi and championing Māori and Pacific Peoples’ health equity. The service supports community, policy and advocacy, and digital engagement across the breadth of Starship’s services, Te Toka Tumai, as well as Safekids Aotearoa, with a focus on haumarutanga and Pae Ora of mokopuna and whānau.

- Strategic relationships with mana whenua, iwi at governance and leadership levels
- Strategic leadership and change management experience
- Demonstrated experience using te ao Māori and mātauranga Māori to inform activities that drive equity
- Demonstrated experience in team management
- Providing trusted advice and leadership on mātauranga Māori and hauora
- Desired: Managing funder/contractual relationships and securing new investment
