We are Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland. We provide health and disability services to more than half a million people living in central Auckland, regional services for Northland and greater Auckland, and specialist national services for the whole of New Zealand. Our main sites are Auckland City Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre and Starship Children’s Hospital, located in central Auckland.

We are part of Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand, the overarching organisation for New Zealand’s national health service. Te Whatu Ora leads the day-to-day running of the health system, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels. Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

Come and join our dynamic, award winning Orthoptic team who are ready to welcome a new recruit into our fast paced clinical environment. The Te Toka Tumai| Auckland Ophthalmology Department is the largest in New Zealand. You will be working independently as well as alongside Paediatric, Oculoplastic, Adult Strabismus and Neuro-ophthalmologists giving you a very varied case mix with plenty of opportunities to learn and grow.

If you are a qualified Orthoptist holding an internationally recognized Orthoptic qualification this is a wonderful opportunity to start your career, take a career break or make a permanent move to experience the lifestyle that New Zealand has to offer.

  • Membership of the relevant professional body
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience post registration
