Psychologist - Auckland Sexual Health Service

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

The Auckland Sexual Health Service part of our Adult Community and Long Term Conditions Directorate, is a multidisciplinary regional service covering all aspects of sexual health care and support. It is one of the largest sexual health services in Australasia and is a leading sexual health medicine clinical training and research facility. The service is recognised by the Australasian Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine as a training facility.

Our team at Te Toka Tumai are looking for an experienced Health or Clinical Psychologist to join our multi-disciplinary team providing secondary care and treatment to outpatients that form the culturally diverse Auckland population. You will be based at the Greenlane Clinical Centre, working with patients with chronic genital pain conditions and a range of general sexual health concerns. In addition, the role includes working with trans and non-binary people who are accessing gender affirming healthcare at Auckland Sexual Health service. You will be responsible for:

  • Providing comprehensive assessment and outcome focussed innovative care.
  • Applying evidence-based practice, interventions and education within the area of specialty.
  • Contributing to the quality and service improvements and development of team members and students as well as themselves.

The role is primarily clinical where the majority of time is client related but incorporates clinical education and clinical leadership components relevant to the area of specialty.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

Our successful candidate should have:

  • NZ Registration as a Psychologist with a current APC
  • Minimum of Postgraduate Diploma in Health Psychology or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or equivalent
  • Current Full driver’s licence
  • Previous experience in physical health or medical settings is essential.
