The Role:
As someone who can effect change with Pacific families, you will play a pivotal role in The Fono's involvement in the Whanau Resilience initiative. Your input will be essential in bringing a change-focused perspective to service delivery, ensuring that Pacific cultural dimensions, values, and protocols are deeply embedded in service delivery by Kaimahi. Your work will be especially significant in the areas such of sexual violence and family violence, where cultural sensitivity and understanding are crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with local providers to implement services that strengthen resilience within Pacific communities.
- Assess the needs and strengths of families to contribute to the development and implementation of behavioural change goals.
- Ensure Pacific cultural values are integrated into every aspect of service delivery.
- Play a central role in fulfilling The Fono's mission within the community and ensuring critically reflective services.
About you
This Kaimahi position offers a remarkable opportunity to apply your skills and passion in serving Pacific communities in specific areas of need. You will have:
- Relevant experience in the social services sector or a similar field.
- A tertiary qualification in a related discipline is advantageous.
- A strong understanding of Pacific cultural dimensions, values and protocols.
- Experience in change management, particularly in addressing sexual violence and family violence.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- A commitment to making a positive impact and advancing The Fono's mission.
- A lived experience and a deep appreciation of Pacific culture, values, and protocols.
