Senior Advisor - Business Services - NPHS

About the Role
We have the opportunity available to join our Business Services team as a Senior Advisor in a permanent, full-time role.
The primary purpose of the role is to provide support for the governance and reporting processes for the National Public Health Service. This includes risks and issues reporting, health, safety and wellbeing programme support, writing and reviewing decision papers for senior leaders, development of business processes and guidance, and supporting key projects.

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
About you
You come with experience in supporting governance and reporting processes. You will have strong coordination skills and attention to detail, especially when writing and reviewing papers for decision-makers. You come with a demonstrated drive to deliver and take personal responsibility – with organising, planning and time management skills to multitask, reprioritise and react to issues that arise whilst keeping calm and professional in demanding situations. You will have:
- A relevant graduate or post-graduate qualification
- Experience writing reports which includes collating and analysing information for decision-makers and governance groups
- Strong written and oral communication, and the ability to write good papers for decision-makers
- Experience in managing projects and producing reports
- Strong analytical capabilities and experience in reviewing advice for senior leaders
- Experience developing and implementing consistent group-wide processes, procedures, tools, and templates
- An ability to build constructive and effective relationships with stakeholders to build a sound understanding of their operational environment and context
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proven organisational skills with the ability to think ahead, use initiative, establish priorities and meet deadlines whilst preserving high levels of accuracy and confidentiality
