Occupational Therapist - Team for Assertive Community Treatment

Location: Wellington Community
Contract: Permanent, Part Time (0.55 FTE)

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our Assertive and Outreach Team. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for functional assessments to understand individual needs and develop personalised intervention plans. You will work closely with experienced clinicians to deliver safe, effective and integrated specialist mental health and addiction treatment in our local community. Professional development is also supported through contract provisions. This role is part time permanent.
About the Team/Service/ Location
TACT Team is a multidisciplinary team comprising of a psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, and administration staff. We also have the support of a consumer consultant. TACT provides services to residents of the geographical area from Wellington to Kapiti. The team is indicated for those people with severe and persistent psychiatric disorders who have major functional disability in adult role functioning e.g. self-cares, social/interpersonal relationships and employment.
TACT provides mental health support to individuals with complex, severe and enduring mental health difficulties. The team focuses on supporting individuals who historically have struggled to engage with standard community mental health team processes and are at higher risk of relapsing or admission into inpatient
About you:
We are looking for a motivated clinician who is willing to work as part of a team. It is important you will have a high level of organisational skills as well as experience in risk management and formulation. Often the role calls for autonomy and a willingness to advocate for the people we work with.
You must have:
- NZ Registered Occupational Therapist with current annual practicing certificate.
- Member of Occupational Therapy New Zealand - Professional Association (desirable).
- Full drivers licence.
