- Permanent fulltime position, working 40 hours per week

About the Role
If you have ever considered working in the perioperative environment now is the time to give it a go! We are seeking applicants to work in both PACU and SAU who have 2 years of surgical experience but would also welcome someone who has worked in high acute flow areas. Key strengths we are looking for are energy, adaptability and an eagerness to learn. If that sounds like you, we are keen to hear from you. The successful applicant will be required to work rostered shifts.
The primary functions of this role are to:
- Utilise professional knowledge and skill to provide a holistic approach to nursing care that is safe, of the highest quality possible
- To maintain and enhance the professional standards of nursing and contribute to further development of nursing within the service.
- Provision of nursing care is in consultation and partnership with the patient/client/family/ whanau, where the rights and needs of all people are acknowledged within the context of the Treaty of Waitangi.
- To participate as an effective member of the wider organisation
About the Team/Service/ Location
PACU and SAU are a combination of two distinct parts of a patient's perioperative journey. SAU provides pre and post operative surgical care for Day Surgery as well as longer stay Day of Surgery Admissions. PACU is responsible for the immediate post anaesthetic care; assessing for concerns and responding appropriately to stabilise patients for safe transfer back to the ward. Applicants will be expected to work in both areas but will start where their current skills are most applicable and will be given full orientation and support for transitioning.

About you
- A registered nurse with a current APC
- Proven knowledge base and practical experience with Pain Management in an Acute Setting
- Minimum 2 years Post-graduate Surgical experience
- Proven Clinical nursing and time management skills
You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a skilled team. You will need to have great work organisation skills, the ability to work under pressure and an on-going commitment to service improvement.
