About the Role
We are looking for an experienced registered clinician to work within our rural community mental health and addiction team. The successful applicant must have experience in mental health and/or addictions; have a range of case management, clinical assessment and treatment intervention knowledge and skills to support people to achieve positive health and wellbeing outcomes in their recovery.

Community Mental Health and Addiction Services is seeking a registered health professional with mental health and/or addiction experience to be part of our team delivering high quality responsive services for Community Mental Health and Addiction Services (CMHAS).

About you
This position requires you to have several essential skills and knowledge requirements beyond the normal relevant tertiary qualification, NZ registration with a professional body and current Annual Practicing Certificate.
Requirements for this position are:
- The ability to demonstrate high levels of clinical knowledge in mental health disorders, psychiatric and addiction medications, and the management of risk.
- Practice based therapeutic modes of intervention in a person centred, family friendly, recovery model.
- Three years minimum experience working with case load management, identifying co-existing problems and delivering clinical and psychosocial case in a variety of community settings and proven practical experience as a registered health professional in mental health and addiction clinical settings, adult addiction and co-existing problems in mental health is preferred.
- High levels of communication, customer relations and managing diversity skills, empathy and bi-cultural sensitivity.
- Competent computer skills in Microsoft word and ability to learn computer software packages quickly, a police clearance and current clean driver's license are also required.
- Have a compassionate and enthusiastic understanding for mental health well-being and ability to deliver interventions that is reflective of Health New Zealand/Te Whatu Ora – Whanganui He Hapori Ora - Thriving Communities strategic direction 2020-2023.
