Join the Team Delivering Collaborative, Whānau-Centred Primary Care in Whanganui
Whanganui Regional Health Network and Practice Partners are leading the way in reimagining primary health care for our communities – shifting from the traditional GP/nurse model to an expanded, collaborative team approach. Our goal is to provide early, accessible, and culturally responsive care to our communities, particularly for those at greater risk of health inequities or hospitalisation through developing a diverse workforce with a range of strengths.
We need you and the skills you bring to offer our community better access.
We are building diverse, integrated care teams that include:
- General Practitioners
- Practice Pharmacists
- Physiotherapists
- Registered Nurses
- Nurse Practitioners/Prescribers
- Social Workers
- Health Improvement Practitioners (HIPs)
- Health Coaches
- Care Coordinators
- Kaiāwhina
We are seeking expressions of interest from:
- Doctors, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Prescribers, Health Improvement Practitioners, Health Coaches, Social Workers, Kaiāwhina, Pharmacists, and Physiotherapists who are passionate about transforming healthcare delivery in a collaborative, supportive environment embedded in a general practice environment.
“From a Physio perspective this is an opportunity to grow and learn in a space outside of the traditional ACC injury model, and to work closely embedded within medical practice environments. There is significant variety, and you will work closely with a range of different professional roles and teams, Kaiāwhina, Pharmacists, GP's/Nurse Practitioner's , Health Coaches/HIP's and Nurses.”
Ideal candidates will:
• Thrive on delivering care to people with diverse clinical and social needs
• Be culturally competent and responsive to the needs of whānau
• Provide safe, effective, person and whānau-centred care
• Work well in multidisciplinary teams and across health and social service networks
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a system that is grounded in whānau voice, underpinned by strong partnerships with Iwi, general practices, and the community.
“We are working within teams to support those with complexity, mostly within Māori/Pasifika/Tānagata Whaikaha and rural populations. Ideally you have a few years clinical practice and preferably some post grad qualifications and/or strong willingness to develop culturally competent practice.”
Interested? We would love to hear from you.
