KAITĀTAKI - EQUITY SUPPORT (0.4 FTE)

We are currently seeking a Kaitātaki Equity Support to play a vital leadership role in our organisation. This pivotal position will focus on improving equity for our patients and their whānau, particularly within Māori, Pasifika and Rural communities.
You will be instrumental in:
- Strengthening our cultural competencies across the organisation
- Embedding our Māori and Pasifika Health Plans into everyday practice
- Supporting management and frontline teams to identify and reduce inequities in care

About Hospice Whanganui
We are a patient/whānau-led service that operates 24/7, providing specialised palliative care across the Whanganui, Waimarino, and South Taranaki regions. What sets us apart is our nurse-led, hybrid model of practice that enables us to be agile and responsive to the evolving needs of our whānau and communities. Whether patients are at home, in hospital, in a facility, or in our inpatient unit, we provide compassionate, expert care where they choose to be.
We are seeking someone who is:
- Passionate about holistic care and improving health outcomes
- Confident working across all levels – from frontline staff to management and governance – to enhance learning opportunities and build capability
- Proactive, with strong time management and exceptional communication skills
- Well-versed in the health sector and politically astute to sector changes and developments
- Knowledgeable in and respectful of te reo me ōna tikanga
- Committed to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and leading the implementation of our cultural competency framework
