Maintenance Fitter/Turner | Hillmorton Hospital

- Permanent full-time role - 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

About the role
In this role you will be mainly based at The Hillmorton and Princess Margaret hospitals, Christchurch, however flexibility to work in other Christchurch hospitals is required. We are looking for a qualified fitter/ turner to join the Maintenance and Engineering Department, where you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining the buildings, building services / plant and equipment and building management systems. Experience in a similar role would be advantageous, but so is the ability and willingness to learn new skills as part of a forward-thinking team.
The salary for this position is $75,499- $86,623
You will be responsible for:
- Maintain and repair steam, water, condensate, compressed air, medical gas and other reticulated systems
- Regular inspections of the operating systems and services
- Welding and machining
- Maintenance repairs and the operation of Boilers and heating plant
- Maintenance and repairs of general Hospital equipment
- Being part of the - on-call - roster
Your skills will include:
- A qualified trade certificate is essential
- Building Management systems experience (beneficial)
- Welding; Machining and general fitting experience
- Knowledge of reticulated services such as water, steam, condensate, compressed air
- The ability to work autonomously
- Intermediate skills in the Microsoft suite e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Health NZ Waitaha Canterbury Maintenance and Engineering Department looks after the maintenance of all buildings, grounds, services and non-clinical equipment in Christchurch and the surrounding area.
