About the Role
Are you ready for a nursing role that brings variety, challenge, and meaning to every shift? At Whakatāne Hospital, we are offering permanent full-time or part-time positions for Registered Nurses in our Acute Care Unit working up to 1.0 FTE (up to 40 hours per week). Please include in your cover letter the FTE you would like to be considered for.
The unit includes 11 beds that are made up of a 6-bed Level One ICU, HDU and CCU, including a 5-bed high-acuity area with advanced monitoring. We provide exceptional and compassionate care for both adult and paediatric patients from across the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will bring confidence, clinical curiosity, and remain calm under pressure. Whether you are already in critical care or looking to move into a more acute nursing environment, you're ready to be part of a cohesive, capable team.
What you will bring:
- Current NZ Nursing Registration and Annual Practicing Certificate
- Recent experience in ICU/CCU/HDU, or high-acuity clinical environments (ideally)
- Strong communication, adaptability, and clinical reasoning
- A commitment to safe, compassionate, and equitable patient care.
