Opportunities Across New Zealand
Clinical Psychologists at Health New Zealand provide psychological assessment, diagnosis, formulation and therapy across a wide range of mental health and wellbeing services. Roles are available across all age groups and clinical settings including:
- Adult Mental Health
- Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS)
- Older Adult Services
- Perinatal and Maternal Mental Health
- Early Psychosis Intervention
- Forensic Mental Health
- Intellectual Disabilities
- Youth Offending and Community Services

Call New Zealand Home
Once offered a position, our Health Immigration team can provide free support to you and your family with immigrating to New Zealand. Clinical Psychologists are on Tier 1 of New Zealand's Green List, which means you are eligible for the Straight to Residence Visa and can apply for New Zealand residency before you arrive.

Salary and Benefits
Base Salary: NZD $85,000 – $150,000 (dependent on role and experience)
Additional Compensation: Higher duties, on-call, and emergency allowances (where applicable)
You'll also receive:
- Reimbursement of your Professional Registration and APC fees
- Professional indemnity insurance covered by Health NZ
- Paid Continuing Professional Development allowance
- 4 weeks annual leave per year
- 10 days paid sick leave per year
- 12 paid public holidays (plus time in lieu if rostered on)
- 14 weeks paid parental leave
- Long service leave
What You Need to Work Here
To work as a Clinical Psychologist in New Zealand, you must be registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board under the Clinical scope of practice and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate. Overseas-trained applicants are assessed individually on their qualifications, competence, and fitness to practise.
