About the Role

As a Senior Advisor, you will provide consistent high-quality advice and support, oversight and direction as required on key work programmes. Join the Prevention team within National Public Health Service in this full time, permanent opportunity. For this role, you can be based anywhere in New Zealand.

Utilise your strong subject matter expertise, writing and relationship skills capable of leading a project of work. The primary purpose of the role is to:  

• Have a continuous focus on quality assurance, monitoring and reporting to support the delivery of high-quality immunisation and screening services.
• Contribute and lead pieces of work to deliver the quality and monitoring workplan.

The NPHS within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

About you

As a Senior Advisor, you are confident working in a fast-paced environment and getting ‘stuck in' with a range of work.  You have the ability to draw on relevant longer-term experience specific to the job and work demands. You have proven experience in an advisory role, applying critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide advice. 

• A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification.
• Qualification in quality improvement methodologies or quality in healthcare
• Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action.
• Senior experience in health quality systems and quality improvement in a healthcare setting providing advice to senior leaders and providers.
• Experience leading the development of quality improvement projects and contributing to projects across teams.
• Experience in cancer screening services, antenatal and childhood screening, and/or immunisation will be highly regarded.
