Required skills & experience:

About the role:

We are seeking a NZ qualified Pharmacy Technician, or an applicant wanting to take on a 3 year training position to become a Pharmacy Technician moving on automatically to a technician role to join our dispensary and supply operations team.

As a Technician in training, you will study part time via NZ Open Polytechnic and be exposed to a variety of Pharmacy technician based roles. The applicant will either already be in training to become a Technician or have NCEA L2 Mathematics and English to allow them to enter the NZ Certificate in Pharmacy Technician training course. You will be part of a great team who will collectively support you in your training.

As a NZ qualified Pharmacy Technician, hospital pharmacy experience is desirable but not essential. Being qualified as a Pharmacy Accuracy Technician (PACT) will be an advantage. Pharmacy Training and further learning is encouraged and supported.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled, clinically experienced senior Registered Nurse to make a positive difference to patient care and nurses through Safe Staffing initiatives at Taranaki DHB. This is a new role developed as a result of the NZNO and DHB MECA negotiations to implement the Care Capacity Demand Management(CCDM) programme by June 2021.

CCDM is designed to provide sustainable solutions to safe staffing issues by matching patient demand to the care that is provided by the DHB staff. The programme is about improving the work environment for staff, care of patients and overall organisational efficiency.

The duties of this role include:

  • Providing leadership and direction to the staff involved in the CCDM and Safe Staffing initiatives across the organisation
  • Develop and oversee the CCDM implementation plan
  • Engage positively with key DHB stakeholders and our union partners
  • Facilitate analysis of data to inform improvement decisions within the DHB

Applicants must have the following:

  • New Zealand Nursing Council registration with a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Minimum 5 years post graduate nursing experience and an up to date Nursing portfolio. Evidence of engagement in PDRP at an advanced level preferred.
  • A relevant Post Graduate qualification, working towards Masters is desired
  • Project management experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of CCDM and Safe Staffing concepts
  • Excellent knowledge of Trendcare
  • Knowledge of the implications of Treaty of Waitangi with a commitment to bi-culturalism
  • Ability to work in a complex changing environment and able to juggle multiple competing priorities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an inter-professional team
  • Excellent communication skills

We are looking for Mental Health Assistants to join the team in ADHB’s Adult Acute Inpatient Unit – Te Whetu Tawera (TWT). TWT serves the population of central Auckland. It is a 58 bed unit which includes a 12 bed ICU.

TWT provides assessment, diagnosis and treatment for adults with serious mental illness and severe psychological disorders. We work in collaboration with the service user, their family / whanau and the community clinical teams to promote recovery. As a Mental Health Assistant in TWT you will be expected to work across all wards under the supervision of Registered Nurses while providing quality care to service users who are experiencing distress.

You’ll be part of a team that supports service users in daily living activities, as well as participation in group activities such as team sports, and arts and crafts activities. The MHA is a key member of the team and is expected to undertake tasks that contribute to the general tidiness, hygiene and positive ward environment.

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate high levels of personal integrity, flexibility, with an ability to work closely with service users and their families while under supervision of a Registered Nurse. It is imperative you have an ability to work in a team, and have an understanding of mental illness and its effects on service users and their families. Fluency in both written and verbal English is essential. Availability to work rostered shifts is required to ensure 24 hour care is provided 40hrs per week, Monday to Sunday. Availability to work all shifts, including nights, is essential.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Medical Practitioner to maintain, restore and coordinate healthcare of Quota Refugees through the provision of primary care and public health expertise. You will provide expert clinical assessment, screening, interventions and identification of health concerns of refugees including mental health and addictions. Ideally you will have experience working with refugees and a strong understanding of their health needs with experience providing care within a general practice or urgent care clinic. Further experience working with children, women's health, mental health and/or sexual health would be preferable. The position will work with refugees to enable them to build trust and confidence in the NZ Health System.

In addition to providing clinical care, the senior medical practitioner will have a leadership role in partnership with the operational, nursing and programme management in shaping the service and how it performs. You will provide expert contribution at the service, organisational and national level, and may also be required to represent the service to key stakeholders. The medical practitioner will be responsible for clinical quality improvement and development of clinical policies and procedures across the Mangere Refugee Health service.
